It's Christmas Time must be really well stocked, and copies available and readily seen at every outlet in America, otherwise it wouldd't have sold as well as it did, again, last week, and this in the face of even two new Elvis albums to compete with it. Availability, that's the key word. It must have sold 7,000 copies. PFAP about 2,400. and Classic Chritmas about 2,600.

You'd expect MSG legacy to be in the top 200, as there seems to be more units available in store?
Do Legacy releases show up in these sales figures at all?

I expect "It's Christmas Time" is readily available. Another key factor in its sale figures, it's cheap. Within budget reach of almost everyone. The "Camden Principle" at work. Somwhere the Colonel is smiling.

had it outsold PFAP it would have debut on the billboard 200, sadly the sales were obviously less for it not to hit the top 200, next weeks chart will be very interesting considering this is a four day U.S thanksgiving holiday weekend starting today, alot of product will be sold but sadly alot of competition out there as well :D

That makes it considerably more appealing. Many of us grew up with that LP - a shame that the original artwork etc isn't on the cd.

Perhaps one day "It's Christmas Time" will earn its own Diamond award. Just think. A Diamond award for two separate releases with the exact same content. The Colonel would laugh uproariously.

It's Christmas Time released by BMG (year 2000) has been certified 3x Platinum http://www.elvisoncd.com/eigenecd/CD/i/itschrismastime.htm
And this time it's the BMG/LaserLight release (2007) that is on the chart and has sold more than 1.4M copies http://www.elvisoncd.com/eigenecd/CD/i/itschristmastime-us07.html

I guess there's just no stopping the already RIAA 3X Platinum "It's Christmas time" (LOL). It is inside the hitsdailydouble top 50, shining brightly (LOL), right now at position #42, with 54 percent or so counted in. Apparently, it will be its highest position ever, with #60 being the highest, as achieved two weeks ago. it is now at #65, I think. If it hits the top 40, it will be one more....This far, almost 13,000 in sales, so we may be talking about 24,000 when this tallies are all mcounted in.

Thanks Brian, just to complement your most recent posts. Naturally, as far as the number of copies sold, it was the already 3X RIAA Platinum "It's Christmas Time", which did the best of the three, but while doing so, entering for the first time, ever, inside the top 50, landing at #46 in Billboard's Top 200 album chart as you mentioned and, incredibly, selling in excess of 16,000 copies last week. That album, as you know, was released way back in 2007 and the RIAA had already given it a 3XPlatinum award, the 1,4 or so million units. mentiuoined in previous posts referring ONLY as to how Soundscan has tallied its performance thus far. For some reason, they have that album as selling 1.4 million but the RIAA says otherwise. Anyways, it appears to be selling like hotcakes, right now, because of its modic price and as it is obviously well stocked in stores. Cheers!!
