Felton's overblown trumpet overdubs didn't really improve the songs. I wonder why he practically erased the piano from the songs (eg from the Roger Whittaker one, what was it called again).

But then I'm sure that he only did to these songs what style dictated in the 1970's. I doubt that folks would have acknowleged these songs had they been released as we know them today.

One song Felton did definately ruin was ''I got my mojo working'' with the overdubs it sounds too Vegas.

The version on Essential Elvis volume 4 was the best and should have been released instead.

For me, those overdubs are a guilty pleasure !

The horns sound great, and those backing girls' voices sound like they were recorded along with his vocal !

For me the overdubs add to the song. I don't much care for the undubbed version.
