No soundtrack was issued because of the release of "Recorded Live at Madison Square Garden." RCA obviously thought that Elvis' first performance at the world-renowned Garden took precedence over a soundtrack release. Bottom line: It didn't make sense releasing two albums, in person or in studio, within a couple of months of each other. The Elvis product was already over-saturated in the market at this point. Was it the right decision? Everyone has his or her own opinion.
