Waiting for news of the Elvis In Person FTD seems ages just because we pre-ordered this.
Would like to see it before Christmas.

There'll be no hidden surprises with the cost. If it comes it'll come for the price they stated. The real danger is that the order gets cancelled altogether.

If it was going to be more they'd have to inform you first, and see if you wanted to cancel.

This is not unheard of. I pre-ordered a CD box earlier in the year from one site - not Amazon - knowing that it was a massively reduced price. I had an acknowledgement in plenty of time, and a month or so before the release date I got an email saying that they were unable to get stocks of the CDs and were cancelling. The set disappeared from the website until the release date, at which point it went back up at a more realistic price.

That was a box by Yazoo. A few years prior to that, I pre-ordered a Judas Priest box set from another site, at an equally ridiculous low price, and exactly the same thing happened there too. Legally they can do what they like just so long as they haven't taken the money from you. All they are doing is making an "Invitation to treat",

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Invitation_to_treat

The one time I challenged this was when I ordered a Bear Family box at less than half price. Because it wasn't a pre-order, and the indication was that it was in stock and I was expecting it to arrive a few days later, I got a bit shirty when they refused to send it. In the end they gave in as a gesture of goodwill, because I bought a lot from them. But they didn't have to.

The Bear Family albums were by Petula Clark. My wife says the most feared sentence in the English language is "There's a new CD box set out...."

Jules you think the same as me on some things.
If our orders did get cancelled I will be blaming someone on here because of that.
The last few weeks has gone by that fast but this last week before release will be slow.

I don't think Amazon would actually cancel the order they just wouldn't fulfill it. I ordered something from them in June that they supposedly had in stock. An initial email informed me of the dispatch date. That was then delayed and now my order just lies there with the promise "We'll notify you via e-mail when we have an estimated delivery date. You can cancel at any time."
I'm not cancelling but I don't believe they will ever get that product back in stock. Result - stalemate.
