HELP NEEDED ! TOP 50 ESSENTIAL BOOTLEGS TO OWN !

#548416

Post by jekhb76 »

Hi all,
I have a problem. With over more than 1500 elvis cd's I start thinking. I don't listen to most of them any more, bezause I have so much.

Can you all help me, to list the top 50 most essential bootlegs to own??????
I know it's a lot of work, but it would really help me, to find the essentials of collection.

Thank

Eddy KHB

Hi Eddy,

My suggestion would be to start import top 40.

What are your plans with your other 1450 bootlegs? :D

regards,

Yvo

I thought of that too. But I would like to know what other member of this board think.
As for your question about the other 1450 +, well i'll keep them, but I don't play more than the half of it.

Hope that some one can really help me with this.

Has this link been fixed? It won't load for me -- and it's been this way for a long time.

Just loaded for me, Doc. It did take a few moments, however.

I would go with the 'There's Always Me' series as these revolutionised the Elvis bootleg scene. Before them we had only had movie outtakes... They still sound as good to my ears now as the first time I heard them.

Doc's list is great, though numbers 15, 24 and 39 are available in more superior versions in terms of sound quality and packaging:

High Voltage! replaces Burning in Birmingham, The Final Farewell 2CD replaces Adios, and Vegas Rhythm replaces It's a Matter of Time.

Joe Krein interview with Sherril Nielsen: "YOU KNOW YOU FORGET HOW GOOD HE REALLY WAS. I SAID MY GOODNESS. YOU KNOW WHEN YOU ARE WITH HIM YOU ARE SO WRAPPED UP DOING THE SHOW, BUT HERE NOW 20 YEARS LATER, I HEAR HIM AND REALIZE WHAT A GREAT TALENT HE WAS. HE WAS THE REAL DEAL.

The recently issued Red Hot In Richmond is also another essential title.

Thanks friends, that helpt me alot.

The next thing I'm goin' to do, is to archive take's, live recordings that I have.
That way, when a new cd comes out, I'll know when I need to buy or not.

thanks again friends.
until next time, adios.
