The Joan Deary Tapes/Strictly Country
How different will these sound to the originals. I know a CDR copy has been going around for a while. I like the songs on this album. Are there added strings, instruments missing, that sort of thing.
Also, has anyone bought It Doesn't Have To Be Strictly Country and actually liked it ?

Re: The Joan Deary Tapes/Strictly Country
The STRICTLY COUNTRY release was a major letdown...crackly acetates...what we hadn't heard mostly had a certain amount of overdubs anyway--only slight slight improvement over the PURE DIAMONDS stuff we had 25 years ago! And certainly did not live up to the HYPE it received prior to it's release--do i have it? YES What does that say about ME?

What I am looking for is a proof that we have the real Mac Coy here...the tapes may sound excellent....I agree....but nowadays all is possible if you have the right equipment...tcb1 wrote:The Joan Deary tapes could just as well be Joan Rivers tapes, .

Re: The Joan Deary Tapes/Strictly Country
I liked the cd also... as I don't have the previous Pure Diamond releases, so I'm satisfied to hear the acetates... but I do prefer the FTDs that have this material better still.buddy holly wrote:I like it and am looking forward to next volumes.trevorelvis wrote:Also, has anyone bought It Doesn't Have To Be Strictly Country and actually liked it ?
