I had to include it because of the setlist and the show itself...I was only judging by this..not regarding cover or sound....the show is essential IMO..pity that no other label brought it out..

I understand but in presented form it is unlistenable crap. If there will be better tape with the same show, then such release can be nice to have....

It doesn`t fulfill the standards the Doc wanted..

...so you are right...(good show anyway..)

For your statistics friends..we have:

269 shows released on import
359 shows floating around and availible as CDR
30 shows from BMG and FTD

I do not count incomplete shows or samplers.

If you have a look at the CDR compared to the imports you see that at least this well won`t dry out the next hundred years..lol..

Cisco, thanks for that list, but ... how about ten, based on the above?

And they push you out on stage
Life is messy

I know that list isn't for me, but I may say that I find your list somewhat disappointing and lame. :?

01 - A Dinner Bell In Vegas 20.8.70 DS - No complaints here. Personally I would have chosen the "You've Lost That Lovin' Feeling"-release from Audionics as I think it has the better performance. Soundwise they're playing in the same league.
02 - A Bright Midnight With Elvis 20.8.70 MS - agreed

03 - A New Experience - Long Beach , CA 14.11.72 ES - agreed
04 - It`s Midnight In Vegas 31.8.74 MS - replaced- On The Road Again - 11.11.1970 - one hell of a show in very good sound for an AR. This would be my choice and would replace the mediocre dialogue show "It's Midnight In Vegas".

05 - Pieces Of MY Life 24.7.75 ES - agreed
06 - The Request Box (19.8.75 DS/20.8.75 DS) - replaced - Soundwise this is a mighty fine release, but if you're going for a good performance you might skip this one. I'd rather go for the AR from Shreveport 07.06.1975 which delivers a more than decent show, instead of unrehearsed and (at best) mediocre versions of some rarities.

07 - Rock Back The Clock 31.12.75 ES - replaced - I think this one is of the most boring & uninspired shows from Elvis in history. The sound is quite good, but the performance lacks substance imo. He didn't get me. I'd rather go for the afternoon show from Inglewood on May 11th, 1974 released as "Elvis At The Forum" which included the best sounding version of "You can have her". The CD overall sounds very good for an AR and the show itself is an entertaining one.

08 - Royal Gambit In Richfield 23.10.76 ES - No complaints here. This is a decent show, but I would have chosen "Phoenix Over Tennessee" instead of the latest Straight Arrow escape.
09 - Auld Lang Syne 31.12.76 ES - agreed
10 - The Final Farewell 26.6.77 - I think the show is much overrated and avershadowed by the fact that it represents Elvis last show. The fact that he sang a few rare songs doesn't do it for me. If you listen closely to the songs and the dialogues than you'll can easily hear that there's nothing at the right place. If it has to be one AR from '77 than I would chose "Second Night In Birmingham" every day. So it should be said that the latest escape from Rainbow Rec. is a very good release in every aspect.
