Re: James Burton / Kenny Lovelace
IMO Kenny is not in the same league as JB.
I don't think he could be even close to James.
Well maybe on fiddle
But he just have to make some background noise, the main thing is always Jerry Lee and his piano.

Re: James Burton / Kenny Lovelace
I guess kkn's question was about the kind of guitar Kenny played. When watching it from YouTube, it looks to be a Burton tele to me. Ain't Kenny James's friend, so maybe there is a connection there too.

Kenny is good. He's been with Jerry since 1967 and thus played on more fantastic records then most. His fiddle playing is damn good as anyone who checks out J.L.L.'s 1969 performance of Mystery Train can attest. I wish I could find a vinyl copy of his 20 Years Overnight album.

Re: James Burton / Kenny Lovelace
Well yea.
He's very good player both guitar and fiddle.
He played fiddle in Toronto 69 show, when Jerry Played guitar on Mystery Train, fantastic stuff.
They plaed together with James with Jerry few times too. I got one DVD of show from Sweden 1997 I think.
Fantastic.
But I don't see him with Elvis.

Kenny is to Jerry Lee as Charlie was to Elvis.

Never mind Linda Lovelace. According to Elvis, JD Sumner was "the original deep-throat!".
