I remember UK printed picture sleeves of the 1980 remake of "Guitar Man" being hard to find.

The 'Are You Lonesome Tonight (laughing version)' picture sleeve is not rare (plenty on e-bay) it is the solid centre pressing that is the rarity. The single peaked at #25 on the U.K chart in 1982.
The 'Guitar Man' U.K printed picture sleeve is quite hard to find - most of the sleeves were printed in the USA.

Thanks. I'm no expert on vinyl so didn't realise that the solid centre was rare. I do remember most of the "Guitar Man" singles being in plain black generic RCA sleeves though. I also had a US picture sleeve before I managed to get a UK one.

In September of 1956 the chilean RCA include this two separate singles on a one 78 R.PM.:

The next information is very important to understand who Presley debut in Chile.
My english are bad. If somebody can translate this can understand who start the chilean discography of Presley.

Thank You Tony. The first 78 R.P.M. you show me is very rare. I have the same in white background color label with dark Green letters and graphics.

The side A of this beauty are “Hound Dong” (Perro sabueso).

This light Green lemmon background color is not common version. Very limited run and hard to find piece. Make at the end of moth of July of 1956, my version is later in August of 1956.

I have the second, made in Argentina. This Record are interesting because promoted as HIT FROM MOVIE “Al compás del Reloj” (Rock Around The Clock). But the record have the Presley version of this song, not the version of Bill Haley & His comets perfomace in this film. The movie has very popular on this years.

The chilean 78 R.P.M. have this versions:

Image

Label 1-2: from 1956 to 1957.
Label 3: from 1957.
Label 4: from 1957-1959.

Unfortunately I do not own this "baby"... But my friend has it. And it is Finnish 78rpm from 1957. Looking matrix numbers it looks to be pressed from German mother stampers. There are two funny mistakes on the label: 1. The song is wrote as Teddy Bear (Let Me Be Your). 2. Hal Wallis is wrote as Hal Walli and Walli is common Swedish name in Finland!

It is not known how many was exactly pressed, but probably only 100-200 copies.

CME-146 / Exitos RCA Victor de Discomania (June 1958)

Hard to find rare chilean EP called “Exitos RCA Victor de Discomania”. Discomania was a very popular music radio program in the ‘50s and ‘60s.

On the cover you can see the chilean disck jockey of this program, his name is Ricardo García.
The record include RCA hits from this year on Discomanía radio program and of course “I Beg of you”.

CME-134 / Hollywood Canta (December 1958)

Another mega-rare chilean EP.

Include movie hits of Tony Perkins, Harry Belafonte, Bing Crosby & Elvis Presley. Hollywood Canta = Hollywood Sing.

Got this quite cheaply recently (not Ebay);

MY BOY LA EX.jpg

My Boy / Loving Arms. Does anybody know why it is listed in "Presleyana IV" as being valued at $650 - $750, even without the sleeve insert??!! What was the purpose of this pressing and why the variation in the B side??

Latest Presleyana VII gives value of $800 without a insert sleeve, which is valued as for $200. Yes, it is unclear why RCA in USA pressed this single for distribution overseas in 1974. The only time they did that... In USA the B side was Thinking About You, while this export it is Loving' Arms (mis-spelled slightly on the label). The USA release was on January 1975.
