APRIL FTD RELEASE!
Will be a Classic Album release on 'That's The Way It Is'!
A single cd release will feature all important tracks to be found on the 3 cd boxset from a couple of years back.
I say: bring it on!!

I saw Elvis live in concert the year before he died. Even then, he was bigger than life, and had amazing charisma. Haven't seen anything like it since, ....until Adam.........Nocturnal 2010

Re: APRIL FTD RELEASE!
Just read on the 'Elvis Unlimited' website that it will be a 2 C.D set, so I guess it's true.

Re: APRIL FTD RELEASE!
I heard the TTWII rumour at the weekend. When I saw Jeroen's post my heart sank, but if it is a 2 disc set then there is plenty of scope for new outtakes, so my hope is restoredElfan wrote:Just read on the 'Elvis Unlimited' website that it will be a 2 C.D set, so I guess it's true.

I wish they would rethink the soundboard FTD policyLittle Darlin wrote:Is this for real? Where did you ''hear'' that?

Re: APRIL FTD RELEASE!
I read it as a new 2 CD 7" Classic Album release of TTWII,And a seperate release of the CD that came with the TTWII FTD Book a few years back.which is a great CD.

Re: APRIL FTD RELEASE!
It would be good to know the track-list.
There aren't a lot alternate takes so if it will be a 2 CD-set then they'll use most of them probably. Plus a few singles and maybe the undubbed masters.
One thing is sure: i don't wan't added live recordings.

Re: APRIL FTD RELEASE!
Pay attention Colin !!! They are re-releasing The Way It Was Cd without the book (ie in a regular FTD digipak).ColinB wrote:Are you referring to The Way It Was ?Dan_T wrote:I read it as a new 2 CD 7" Classic Album release of TTWII,And a seperate release of the CD that came with the TTWII FTD Book a few years back.which is a great CD.

Re: APRIL FTD RELEASE!
I'm excited to hear that the April FTD will be a classic treatment of the "That's The Way It Is" album. I can't wait to hear the Sebastian / Anesini treatment of the songs on this album, especially "Just Pretend," which is probably in my top 5 of Elvis' songs. As for soundboards, although I know some people love them, it wouldn't bother me if they never released another one. It's my understanding that they are not profitable because of the royalty payments required.

Doesn't alter the fact that we've already had the CD released on the FTD label....................

Almost correct. Not Royalties, but session fees to the musicians and backing singers.MysteryTrain wrote: It's my understanding that they are not profitable because of the royalty payments required.

Re: APRIL FTD RELEASE!
So hang on, is it both a 2 CD version of TTWII and That's the Way it Was in digipack? Or just the latter?
The former would be fine, but there's other albums much more in need of the 2 CD treatment. And after this title has already had a 3 CD treatment, it all seems a bit pointless.
The latter makes sense for those who couldn't afford the book.
I take it this means that CD only versions of Flashback, Writing for the King and Live in L.A. may follow....?
I still can't help but feel disappointed either way.
