ALL outtakes. I think it was on the flashback label, and it was the first ever boot cd!

the first import CD for Elvis was released in march 1988 and was titled "In my way" on label Document DR 006 and contains previously released outtakes at that time;

The Hollywood sessions was import CD number two in a row that is not ending and released in july 1988 on the label Flashback CD 1001 with previously released outtakes.

Man, I really thought I was let into a secret world that very few people knew about.....turned me into a Bootleg Junkie....couldn't wait to get the next one.....(THE LEGEND LIVES ON or a SINGLE MOODY BLUE LIVE in 1977 (flip side TIGER MAN 77?).
Concerning the Moody Blue live single the flip side was in fact "make the world go away" live. The label was Tiger man.

Brad, "make the world go away" I can't recall the date, but I believe it was from Las Vegas either 1972 or 1973.

I had a video tape of the CBS special that I bought from a magazine ad years before for $30. I traded a copy of it to someone for A Hot Winter Night In Dallas on CD. It was my first of about 250 CD's and counting!

I Wanna Be A Rock & Roll Star

Quite horrid LP by today's standards, soundwise & really bad cover.

But, it held the only available version of A CANE AND A HIGH STARCHED COLLAR at the time, which happened to be one of my favorite Elvis songs .....

Cheers

The first bootleg LP I ever heard back in 1982 (though not the first I bought which I can't remember maybe Got O Lot Of Living To Do) was Plantation Rock. I have always liked that song and the LP still holds up.

It was "The Greensboro Concert". I bought that after I've been to a TCB show in 2003. I will never forget the excitment.

I ordered "Just pretend" and "American Crown Jewels" at the same time.
Was really impressed by the latter mentioned. Hoping JP would be an early 70s show, I was a bit disappointed learning it was from 1975.

But Just Pretend was the FIRST private release of a soundboard tape! These days it seems like soundboards are commonplace but, in 1991, the CD was an incredible treat.

Naturally, American Crown Jewels was a stunning disc, and remains so today.

First CD boot for me was the incredible piece of junk by Fort Baxter titled STAX TRAX....quad versions from 8-track peddled at 200 USD as if they were unreleased outtakes, mixes etc.

The first Elvis bootleg album i bought was in 1983 in a record shop in Melborne,Australia.

The album was 'Eternal Elvis'(Red Vinyl) and it took me 5 years to realise it was a bootleg.Friend of mine told me it was a bootleg then had to explain what the word 'Bootleg' meant. :smt005

Great album and have fond memories of playing it.

First time i heard the songs 'Fame and Fortune', It Hurts Me and C,mon Everybody' plus a few others.
Some great interviews on there as well.

Cadilac Elvis has some humor which I always like. I think some of the songs on their didn't appear elsewhere on vinyl.

Really I have the LP version and it isn't the quad mixes. It sounds pretty decent actually, but I think what it is is out of phase stereo. Hardly essential but not quite junk.

My first bootleg CD was Diamond's "Holding Back The Years" - i know now that particular show was sort of average but the sound crystal clear and this was the first time i heard Elvis' rendition of "America The Beautiful." Thus it holds a special place in my collection.

My first boot was the LP Please Release Me. What a treat it was at the time!

On CD it was the sublime There's Always Me box sets. Still hard to beat in 2007.
