Elvis on Youtube
Hi,
I've been on YT lately and noticed so many great Elvis clips deleated (inc. Hurt '77 from Chicago). Most disappointing. Who is 'mainly' responsible for this? Is it YT, EPE, BMG, MGM. Any others.....
Thanks,
Rob.

I'm guessing whoever owns the rights to the footage in question.Rob V wrote:Hi,

I have had 1977 clips on YouTube for a very long time now.
One is from CBS and another is from TTWII footage and the other is from Pittsburgh 1977.
None have ever been removed, nor has anyone ever written to me via YouTube or otherwise to ask me to remove or alter these clips.

Re: Elvis on Youtube
Rob, 8mm film shot by a fan is not bootleg, it is material officially owned by that fan.Rob V wrote:Joe Car wrote:

That fan may not have rights to release the material especially if it was recorded with sound, but nevertheless that fan retains full ownership of that material until such time they decided to sell it. Some have made such film available on various VHS & DVD releases for private home viewing and it seems this is the bulk of what has turned up publically on YouTube.
Some of these fans have thought this footage they made would end up being their pension and worth millions. As we all know it is not woth that so they do try to hold on to what little it is worth by making sure other fans dont get to see it for free on YouTube.
