Question about naming Lisa Marie

#416284

Post by Narek »

When Elvis' daughter was born did he think of naming her Gladys? Any facts/rumours on that? And where did the name Lisa Marie come from.

Just from what i read somehwere,Elvis & Priscilla got the name Lisa from a baby (names)book, and they both liked it.
Marie was taken from Tom Parker's wife.

Yeah that's right I remember reading that somewhere too. Did the name Lisa had something to do with numerology Elvis studied?

But Anita Wood said in an interview that she and Elvis discussed children's names, and thought of Alicia Marie, so she was very surprised when she heard of the name chosen for Lisa. This is an excellent interview and can be read on Haruo's Elvis World Japan site.

Thanks for the info. Ironic really that Elvis later dated an Alicia .. but Lisa does sound quite similar .. perhaps Elvis just liked the Name.

I saw Elvis live in concert the year before he died. Even then, he was bigger than life, and had amazing charisma. Haven't seen anything like it since, ....until Adam.........Nocturnal 2010

I recall reading that the chosen boy's name would have been John Baron.
