Post by kelvin »

Just watched the digital transfer version and ive got to say the 'On Tour' footage looks lovely and clear. This may have been discussed before but is there any plans to remaster and release 'On Tour' to DVD?

Don't let them throw you Kelvin! We've been in here too long, so we tend to forget that there might be newer fans joining in!
On Tour unfortunately has not been seen worthy of beeing treated with an SE version. But, we're all eagerly awaiting the day!

I've only just been able to pick myself off the floor after that funny banter :? ......what i cant understand is that MGM have released a lot of Elvis' movies over the past few years and i presume these have been remastered before release? Why has Elvis on tour been forgotten? All im asking for is it to be digitally remastered for better picture.

I understood that Elvis On Tour was filmed on 16mm. As this is a lower quality detail wise format it may not be suitable for digital transfer.

It would be OK for the odd clip but an entire movie would be tiring to the eyes. and raise questions about Warners quality controll among the ignorant.

it may have been shot on 16mm but it was transferred to 35mm for movie theatre release and therefore will be fine for hd and standard master video.

Super 16mm has had some problems for use in HD , but for different issue's.

Meanwhile, I live with my DVD split screen copy in stereo until the day arise! It actually also have a bonus CD with On Tour interviews!
Supposed to be produced and released in Pakistan! It is at least a little better than a VHS tape!

Transferring a 16mm film to 35mm does not make it bettrer...it makes it worse!
