Blu Ray And HD
Anyone getting the high definition versions of Jailhouse Rock being released today?
When you get to the point where you really understand your computer, it's probably obsolete

OK - Here are 2 images from Jailhouse Rock . The first is from the new Blu-ray version , the second from the UK pal standard dvd. These were taken very quickly using a pioneer plasma , but give an idea of the huge improvement in the image of the new hd version.I havn't changed the colour temp. As a bit of history , I have the US laserdisc letterbox, the uk vhs colour version, and this obviously beats all of them by a long way.I have had a quick listen to the audio and the 5.1. track sounds very impressive.I will try and update as soon as I get a chance to view all of the movie.

pal dvd
Blu-Ray
Here is another sample of the pal dvd vs the Blu-Ray disc. Photos are taken via a Sony vw50 hd projector.
I have watched the movie and it is stunning-the audio has Dolbytrue hd 5.1 and dolbydigital 5.1 as well as the original mono sountrrack. This is the first time that I have enjoyed a remastered soundtrack from a mono source.Don't forget that Warner hd disc's have no region code and that HD-DVD is region free anyway.
