Thank You Kiwi for the sales update ...

Very interesting information.

Almost 100,000 units sold within 6 months for another package of Elvis Presley "Hits" and "Fan Favs" and some people as "WHY?" BMG keep releasing these type compilations ...

Very interesting, Thank You !

So, this BMG Heritage 2002 4 cd box set, Today Tomorrow and Forever, has sold in excess of 63,000 units ?

I had read somewhere that this box set sold very well for Elvis and BMG, and that it actually pushed 120,000 units, (120,000 x 4), almost qualifying the set for riaa GOLD status !?!?

Well, it's not that simple an argument, is it? I don't want to re-hash this now (there are better threads on it) but it's a qualitative argument about the nature and prestige of the catalog compared to other legendary acts. No one denies the short-term apparent gains.

Hi
Yes Roger Semon I think it was, said some time ago that the TT&F Box had done over 100,000. Therin lies one of the issues behind Elvis sales; the Soundscan sales often aren't the true total.

The soundscan figure quoted is correct and a reasonable reflection of total sales. At this time Soundscan reported from 90% of total outlets. However I do not know if this includes sales made by the shopping TV channel.

Remember that this is for USA only.
