I find this an almost impossible task.
How can anyone choose just ONE Elvis song from the Fifties?
But it would've been amongst the following classics:
That's All Right
Good Rockin' Tonight
Don't Be Cruel
...the list goes on and on!

Of the 13,000+ votes thus far, "Love Me Tender" is number one with 36% of the vote (that might be my own LEAST favorite 50's song), followed by "a different Elvis song than any listed" with 25% in the second spot. Other songs listed by the pollmaker were "Jailhouse Rock," "Hound Dog," "All Shook Up" and "Blue Suede Shoes."

Love Me Tender is obviously a fan favorite, but like you, I'm not THAT fond of it.
Guess it's been played to death a zillion times on the radio etc...

I voted for:
"a different Elvis song than any listed"
My first thought was to vote for "Don't" ... but got to the site and saw that wasn't listed. The world should know that Elvis had magnificent songs other than those they offered.

Of course it's an imposible task to pick one song from the 50's. I love them all. I picked 'Jailhouse Rock' - a fantastic record which never sounds dated.
