Sig. is indeed Elvis' - a typical pattern sig. from early in his career. Elvis' sig., generally holds to patterns that can point to the decade the piece was signed.

Because it is pre-printed (the item is not actually signed), it has no value as an autograph. The only value the item holds is in the collectibility of the photograph (which was mass produced). 1950's mass produced memorabilia, however, is higly collectible and it does AMAZE me as to the prices people will pay for such items. Sean O'Neal's book gives an nice overview (with photos) of such memorabilia.

Real sigs. make impressions into the paper / item; if you run your finger over the sig. (or back of the item) you can actually feel the indentations made from the sig. was signed. You can also see that the autograph is not actually "in" the photograph as with printed sigs.. Elvis' pre-printed sigs. / patterns are so easily recognized that it only really becomes a problem when unknown patterns or items surface.
