elvis_king, the first recorded boot seems to be The Original Greatest Hits (Greatest Records Company) released in 1964. It was a collection of early Beatles songs. Capitol Records filed legal action and it soon disappeared from the marjket. Another boot, The Best of '67 was released in late 1967 and featured hits friom The Beatles, The Monkees and the Doors. The album that really started the bootleg phenomenon was The Great White Wonder, a 2LP 1969 release of Bob Dylan tracks. Reportedly it sold 50,000 copies (a huge number and huge profit by bootleg standards)! The Rolling Stones boot, Live r Than You'll Ever Be was released in 1970.

Thanks for sharing the link.

Brilliant works and thanks again.

Kind regards, Jörn

Oki Jörn maybe I missunderstood you too, I don't know if they produce bootlegs outside Europe, but in Asia it is legal ??? to do your own pressings of official CDs ?

I have seen illegal pressings of Nirvana, U2, Alanis Morissette CDs in a secondhand record store one time

so maybe they do pressings of bootlegs in Asia ??
