Why no Elvis the Concert USA tour?

#261517

Post by DJL »

I was wondering why Elvis the concert tour seems to favor touring outside the USA. I can't recall the last time a tour was in America. Maybe late 90s? Does anyone know why?

I would love to see one. Has anyone been to one and what was your experience?

Thanks,
DJL

I just wish they stopped with that show! It should of only enjoyed one world - wide tour! Don't get me wrong, I loved it! I was there at the Mid South Coliseum gig, back in August (16th) of '97, and in Brisbane, in November of '99, but come on guys, enough is enough! They are flogging it to death!

It did play the USA in 1998.
and sadly JD Sumner died that November - those US shows up til then were the last chance to see him on stage "backing up" Elvis.

I suppose the reason I ask also is because I'm 23 and never saw Elvis in Concert. Even though it's not the exact same as really seeing himlive, I think it maybe the closest opportunity for me and my generation to see Elvis live.

If the reason they don't tour in the USA is because as mentioned that Elvis is not as popular in the USA as outside the USA, I think that's such ashame.

The show has played many, many times in America since the late 90's.

I've seen it 3 times in the U.S. since 2001 and enjoyed it very much. Try it, you'll like it.

The reason why Elvis: The Concert or Elvis Presley himself isn't respected here in the USA is because:

1) most people (*not everyone though) wants to watch skinny-broom handle thin artists
2) want to listen to either rocked up country sang by blondes (not that I don't like blonds :? ) or gansta hip-hip
3) Elvis is the most mis-managed and wrongly marketed superstar of all time....

Sorry to be so blunt, but just turn on the tv or radio here and you'll see my point.
