"Elvis The Ultimate Remix Album"

Thu Mar 30, 2006 1:44 pm

I received in the mail today a CD called
"Elvis The Ultimate Remix Album"
bought off Ebay......
Image
Most of the remixes I had heard from
various sources before...

Like for example originally off
http://www.elvis-express.com/eer_home.html
Bless their Big Hearts.....
Or from some people from this very
board who sent me some via Internet......
years ago....

Anyway the reason I bought this I was
hoping the quality was going to be a little
better than what I had, and to my surprise
some of the stuff was...like the "Pink vs Elvis"
Remix where Elvis is singing "Rubberneckin"
Image
Who ever put this one together did a great job.....
Pink really added to the song and in my opinion
this release if it would have had access to air play
would have maybe been another Number One for Elvis.....
but shared with Pink.....

I first heard the version on the Elvis express
radio by the way......and liked it from the beginning...
very cool !

Another version Remix I heard for the first time on
Express Radio too and is on this Album is a remix
called "Elvis vs M/A/R/R/S" why it called that I will
never know, but what the Remix is, is the original
version of ALLC which Elvis recorded for the movie
"Live A Little Love A Little"
Image
Now the thing is I liked the original but I didn't
I always thought it needed something but couldn't
explain what, and when finally the other version
was released from the 68' Comeback I understood
what the song was missing, or at least began to really
appreciate the song again and then of course when the
Remix was made that was the ticket !

But on this Album they are using the original

An it starts all over again for me another great job
done by someone with vision, the song sounds fresh
and new again....and you really can't get enough of it.......

For the other cuts on the Album like Suspicious Minds
and Burning Love they are interesting and aren't bad,
again they sound pretty good too.

Anyway all in all not a bad Album, there are a few
stinkers on it, but the good way out the bad , worth
having in my opinion if your into the remixes.....

Pep.
Not sure but I think the Rubberneckin tune you mentioned is played at a club I frequent all the time. Everybody loves it! I got a copy of it from the DJ. Playtime around 5 minutes and change. Nice track

Cool Itaianjob !

I would like to believe if the remix is played in
clubs inreturn there will be people who will see
what they can find on Elvis the next day.....

Without the Remix of Elvis' music unlikely Elvis'
music will be played in the clubs period....

Every litttle bit helps in my opinion....

I look forward to the next one when ever that may be.....
as i would like to belive there is a ton of music from Elvis'
archives that would work for the remix.....

I personally enjoyed this Album as well
Image
What's cool about it is its not like a club mix just pure Rock....
back ground music done by some of the members of the Stay Cats....

Anyway cool Album nonetheless....
brought new life to a lot of of the tracks from the Hayride....

Let's hope they remix EVERYTHING Elvis recorded and sell it on home-made CDs on e-bay, because the originals are all shite. Shabba.

M/A/R/R/S did a track in the UK in 1987 called 'Pump Up The Volume' which is what is mixed with Elvis in this one! :D

I have seen some sites listing a six part collection "Elvis: The Remixes, Vol. 1-6" with eight tracks on each disc (mostly 70's stuff). Has anybody ever heard this collection? Are these truly remixes?
