ELVIS ON TOUR DVD OFFICIAL REPLY FROM E.P.E
HI THE FRIENDS
After a first reply from Warner video Germany
i have this reply from E.P.E :
Elvis Presley Enterprises does not own the film Elvis On Tour and has not played any role in the German DVD release. We do not know why Warner Brothers' German branch chose to release the exisiting version of Elvis On Tour rather than wait until the new edition Warner Brothers in America is planning becomes available. Whenever Warner Brothers has information to share about the content of the new DVD and its release date, information will be posted in News on our site, our FAQ item about the concert films will be updated and we will include the information in our e-newsletter mailings.
Thanks & best.

Thanks Christian.
This is in accord with what I reported in the other thread.
140 titles are affected by this. The German branch is pretty much independent. In this case they don't seem to care about Warner Bros releases in the US. Or maybe EOT slipped through and is now on the list. But it is clear that somebody in the marketing dept must have thought that because nobody would buy the films in Germany anyway we go back to the "dark ages". So there might not be any use in sending angry eMails. And mono, stereo what does it matter? It is 4:3 for crying out loud. Wrong aspect ratio is going to ruin the split screen format. Should we worry too much? The folks at Warner Bros know how to treat the classics. Or maybe how about the branch in the UK? They yet have to use a German master and I don't see that happening, so let's relax.
