Brian -

Thanks for that !

It's worth noting that the E1 sales figure is for 2005 only !

It has racked up a lot more sales than that since it went on sale in 2002 !

But the real surprise seller is Hitstory !

This retails [in Woolworths] at £17.97.

So purchasers have shelled out the best part of £3M in the UK for it !

And that's on top of the E1 & 2nd to None sales !

Daft, I call it.

That's not bad for E1 to still be selling 150000 copies 3 years after it was released. I guess it has been helped by the fact it is always included in HMV's sale etc.

ASDA £4.97 for E-1 and that's everyday price in there.

with those sales of just those 3 titles in the UK, what would be the guesstimate for the sum totla of all other Elvis releases still currently on shops shelves in the UK?

Would another 100,000 units be about right for all other titles put together ? Maybe more ?

Either way, where would sales of about 900,000+ units in the UK put Elvis in a chart of artists for 2005 ?

As Brian pointed out, sales of all Elvis' albums in the UK in 2005 were 710,000.

Including FTD, sales from shops not issuing sales returns, sales of on line purchases etc ?

Okay, 710,000 is it then.

And where would that put Elvis in a list of artists charts for sales in 2005 ?

Why are sales, if they are supposed to be so accurate, always an exact number of thousands ?

#11 WOW!

2005 and Elvis is the 11th best selling artist in the UK !
All those acts fighting it out and Elvis still doesn't lift a finger and steals 11th place. amazing.

Thanks Brian.
