Elvis Magazine

Tue Jan 10, 2006 2:53 pm

Wandering through W H Smith's today, a new magazine caught my eye.

Called "Elvis" it sports a nice 50's pic on the front.

Couldn't open it [sealed] but it did say "Read the true story of the king of rock 'n' roll".

As per common practice these days, you get a 'free' DVD with it [Jailhouse Rock].

I was about to take it to the till when I spotted the price !

One penny short of twenty quid !

Quietly replaced it in the rack.

Colin

this was the legend s magazine that ws released in August i think for £5.99 it obvioulsy didn't sell that well so they chucked in the dvd and remarketed it but like you i saw the price and laughed another marketing con especially when you can get the dvd for £11.99 or less from HMV etc

its been on sale in its current format for about 3 months

It's new to W H Smiths !

Can't see the con working.

Not at that price.

How could you possibly pass up the opportunity to learn the true story of Elvis Presley? It may have been the definitive work on the man.
