Elvis Song For Wedding - Father / Daughter Dance
My future father-in-law is an Elvis fan.
So my wife-to-be would like to dance to an elvis song with him.

Does anyone have any ideas on an Elvis song that would be appropriate for a Father / Daugher dance?

The song that Elvis sang to his own daughter, on more than one occasion, is
"The First Time Ever I Saw Your Face"

Other than that piece of pretty serious music,

there's the ever-corny elder man/younger girl fatherly advice
movie duet he did:
"Datin"
and of course, datin' led to the wedding, right.

YOUNG AND BEAUTIFUL

Confidence.

Now serious: I also recommend The First Time Ever I Saw Your Face.
The studio version.

If he's paying for the wedding how about, "I Got Stung"

I took a good listen to some of the suggestions.

Also came across "Memories" on the web. That is a nice song too.

Here are some others that may work:
I'm Yours
She Wears My Ring
I Just Can't Help Belivein
The Wonder Of You
Let It Be Me
Hawaiian Wedding Song
Good Luck Charm
The Thrill Of Your Love
Pocket Full Of Rainbows
There's Always Me
Love Letters
True Love
Love Me Tender
I Want You, I Need You, I Love You
Loving You
As Long As I Have You
Can't Help Falling In Love

"Memories" would probably work best though I agree, but you can check these songs out and see if you like any of them also. Hope this helps some, good luck!

Would "Your Time Hasn't Come Yet, Baby" fit? Perhaps not, because it's aimed at a young girl, coupled with the fact that your wife's time obviouslyhas come, but it might still possibly work in a retrospective kind of way. Whatever the heck that means.

I think you should consider using "This Is Our Dance". It's a waltz, it's nice and pleasant, but not known to many non-fans. In addition, it's not heavy sexually (like The First Time Ever I Saw Your Face is). I mean this is a father - daughter dance after all, right?

I assume you know the song, but if you don't, I can direct you towards where to find it.

well, if it's "heavy sexually" then why was Elvis singing it to Lisa Marie?

I agree with Danny:
"This Is Our Dance" is a perfect waltz to dance to!

Or:
"Moody Blue" is nice to dance to too!...if both of you can dance very good, than "Bossa Nova Baby", "Rock A Hula Baby" or "Viva Las Vegas" are MY three favourites to dance to!
have fun!

This song came to my mind. I didn´t post because the title song itself brings an idea of something that it has gone. Something from the past.
So it wouldn´t fit for a song wedding.

Of course the melody is perfect.

How about "Mine"?

Either that or "Memories" would be best, imo.

   after that you can do little less conversation (not the bastardized remix), one night of sin and shake, rattle & roll with the extra part of the lyrics in it...

lmao. it's only good for a joke though, i wouldn't recommend it.

i can't help falling in love wasn't sung originally to a girlfriend (a grandma), and it's quite vague on the whole who are you singing to thing. plus everybody knows it and it's a classic slow dance song.

young and beautiful is my other recommendation. i have a personal loving for that song.
