"Elvis '56" came out for the first time in 1996, Jeanno, as far
as I know.
I agree with you about the two albums and number two (known
in the UK as "Rock'n'Roll No. 2" I think), was conceived as a true album
and in that way is almost his real first album. Even the liner notes
were surprisingly good -and I noticed that even as a kid.
However, "Elvis Presley" was a true album as well
-and received as such.
Only years later do we get thrown by the Sun sides.
It gets major
points for its cover, which is an acknowledged classic.
I'm open to creative repackagings (nicely done, guys) but
I still would rather see the original albums respected.
should have bought each again in 2005 for the
Kevan Budd sound.
