Does anyone know the story behind the "parting of ways" between Eddy Arnold
and Elvis' manager, Colonel Tom Parker? (I had to throw the "Elvis' manager" part in there)

According to fellow promoter Oscar Davis, the argument between Arnold and Parker that led to the 1953 break-up occured in a hotel in Las Vegas.
Vegas! Good Ol money-hungry gambler Tom Parker's favorite territory.
(and Elvis Presley was barely out of high school at the time)
but that Presley boy would take Parker right back to Vegas! Over and over and over! Yee haawww Viva Las Vegas! lol)
Allegedly, the 1974 argument when Elvis "fired" Parker also happened in a Vegas hotel (Hilton)

Remember, if you ever fire that old bastard Colonel Tom Parker, it's a tradition you gotta do it in Vegas.

Eddy Arnold fired Colonel Tom Parker because the Colonel was selling cigars to Eddy`s bandmembers.When Eddy found out this and that the Colonel sold the cigars at a very high price he got fired.The Colonel was cheating everyone he was manager for.
