Not that its of any consequence or even pertinent to the discussion here but for the record Justin didn't flip any switches or push any buttons there that day. He sat with the rest of them and gave his views on Elvis' impact, related the stories of his grandfather and listened to Scotty's view on how things were. Then Scotty flipped the switch.
I was there and saw JT get the OK by Scotty Moore, who I also met that day along with Ike Turner. That's how I knew about him flipping the switch there onstage.
I'm sorry. I thought JT was the one to flip the switch. I sat about 3 rows from the stage to the left side. But from where I was I could have swore that it was JT who flipped the switch.

Which stage are you referring to? There was no stage in the studio where the broadcast was made from and there were little to no audience. Few people were allowed anywhere in there that didn't have something directly to do with the broadcast. There were a few people in the control room but no rows of seats anywhere, no room for any. Are you referring to the press conference set up in the tents behind the building?
