heard today that Beaman Associates, the owners of the building at 1525 McGavock St. in Nashville plan to demolish it sometime in 2007.
Its a shame too, the building really has an overlooked historical significance. As you may know its where Heartbreak Hotel was recorded and that record literally killed country music overnight and heralded in the era of Nashville as the recording mecca of its time.
I'm told that the building is in pretty bad shape and any kind of renovation would cost millions. Beaman is likely sick of paying the
property taxes on it.
