NEW ELVIS CD/DVD AWARDS CEREMONY - 8TH JANUARY, 2006

Sun Sep 18, 2005 1:47 pm

The following has been posted on the EPE Website as part of the January 8th Birthday Celebrations at Graceland:

Elvis Presley Day Ceremony
9:00 AM. Front lawn of Graceland Mansion. The traditional ceremony with special program hosted by Graceland/EPE officials, featuring a birthday cake cutting and a proclamation of Elvis Presley Day by Memphis and Shelby County officials. Free admission. A Sony BMG presentation of Elvis’s latest gold and platinum record and DVD awards is anticipated. Complimentary birthday cake and coffee served at The Chrome Grille across the street following the ceremony.

I have queried the above statement with Todd Morgan of EPE regarding the word 'latest'. He has replied as follows:

"We assume it will be the typical mix of upgrades and new awards - whatever Elvis is due and the record company can get certified. We don't have a list yet".

Brian -

It might be that the list is a little DVD heavy this time.

Colin,

You may be right. Such DVD's as EBTP and The 68 and Aloha Specials should feature strongly. Of course with Ernst Jorgensen being off the scene for a few months and with the recent merger between Sony and BMG it may be that back sales research has been put on the slow burner until departmental responsibilities have been sorted out.

No !

It is still being handled by Roger Semon's secretary, when her nails don't need attention.

And, apparently, with the same enthusiasm as ever.
