There is a beautuful footage of Tom Jones singing this song. It is in 1974 and the version is slow.
Manowar also did a version of it. I donĀ“t like this band and they are heavy metal but I was introduced to their version by a friend.
Also great....

In a 1987 Elvis tribute show on UK tv, a version was sung by Meatloaf.

The late country singer Dottie West did it in her live show.

I've seen Wayne Newton perform it, and I must say that even though it's a very nice version - even though it's not Elvis.

Like mathew, I too sing it in the shower or when I visit the water closet; however, I usually stop 1/2 through and begin singing Where Did They Go Lord

Sung? I think the word you were looking for was "murdered". :)

My band Onionhead used to cover it. Pretty hard for a 5 piece band too!
