Probably! All four of them!

How come Elvis got to perform I Just Can't Help Believin' in the first place?

Not a typical Elvis song, that's for sure!

Anyone knows who picked the song for him, or did he choose it himself?

Uhh, count 5 fans here .... Raindrops, Billy & Sue, Hooked on a Feeling, Eyes of a New York Woman, I Just Can't Help Beleivin', R&R Lullabye, Mama, I'm So Lonesome I Could Cry, etc.
I've seen his concerts .... he's very humble, all about the music.
The anecdote he told us one night was about Elvis' version of Beleivin'.
BJ said that Elvis looked great, sounded great, and moved like no other ... but, I've got the gold record on my wall in Malibu.
You could tell he was and is an Elvis fan.

I think: Just can't help believin is a Barry Mann song:

Barry Mann, co-writer of the number, probably recorded his version before that of Bobby Vee. The latter version, however, appears on the CD "The Originals," EVA 7895622. To add to the confusion, BJ Thomas seems to have had the first success with the number, reaching number 9 in the US Billboard charts in 1970

It's from; http://www.geocities.com/davidneale/elv ... inals.html

Anyhow, i like all three versions i know of this song.
