Is it 300,000 for platinum in the UK ? I get lost with the different ones around the world.

That's not bad is it for the UK ?

I do know it is only £4.97 in places like ASDA these days which must help a bit.

Interesting. Anyone know how many million selling albums Elvis has had in the UK?

And last week people on an other thread were on about the sound Q etc.

Bigger/more sales = New fan"s.

A while ago, Mr Statistic [whatever happened to him ?] did a list of Elvis albums with the US & UK sales shown.

A quick glance through it reveals the following million-selling UK albums:

1957 - Elvis' Christmas Album - 1.5 M

1958 - Elvis' Golden Records - 1.2 M

1975 - Elvis Presley 40 Greatest Hits - 2.5 M

1993 - The Essential Elvis - 1.0 M

2002 - Elvis 30 # 1 Hits - 1.26 M

He actually listed the sales of 30 # 1 Hits lower but I've shown Brian Quinn's updated figure.

Things like G I Blues & Blue Hawaii are only credited with 500,000 apiece.

2nd To None is listed with 300,000 sales, but this may be out-of-date now.

If you consider that 'The All-time Greatest Hits' was also a major seller (3/4 Million?) then 'variations' of Elvis' greatest hits (with the same core of say 30 tracks) would be the best selling UK album of all time?

Yes, it would !

But they aren't the same album, are they ?

That's how the compilers of the record books view it.
