Does anyone know how many concerts of Elvis were professionally filmed or multitrack concert audio recordings still remain in the vaults unreleased? any books that would help supply that info? appreciate any info.

Four shows were definitely recorded on multi-track equipment for “Elvis On Tour”. These are:
April 9, 1972 Hampton Roads, Virginia, Evening Show
April 10, 1972 Richmond Virginia, Evening Show
April 14, 1972 Greensboro, North Carolina, Evening Show
April 18, 1972 San Antonio, Texas, Evening Show
It’s also likely that these shows still exist on film in the MGM vaults. The San Antonio show is due for release on the “Close Up” box set. It’s likely that there is also further unseen footage from “That’s The Way It Is”.
RCA didn’t record complete shows in Las Vegas during February 1970 and February 1972, but there are still out takes left in the vaults from the performances they did record.
It’s also likely that there are further performances from the spring 1977 tours.
The two shows filmed for the CBS TV Special in 1977 were also recorded in their entirety on mutli-track equipment by RCA. These are:
June 19, 1977 Omaha, Nebraska
June 21, 1977 Rapid City, South Dakota
I would recommend Joe Tunzi’s “Elvis Sessions II” which is due to be updated later this year, and Ernst Jorgenson’s “A Life In Music” for further reading on Elvis’ recordings.
