The only problem with songs being remixed in a "dance" format, is that in the UK, the dance music scene is waning, with clubs closing down. With singles only selling handfuls and mostly to kids under 16, or to artists with a hardcore following (Elvis, Iron Maiden, U2 etc), only these sort of artists or rap (which only appeals to juveniles and blacks), appears in the singles chart, because fans of REAL music generally only buy albums. Hence the album chart is the real barometer of UK music in the UK, and radio stations such as Radio 2 and Virgin gain more listeners.
An Elvis remix will sell, because there are enough fans to get it into the top 10, but soon dance music will be considered old hat.
LONG LIVE ROCK!
