The ELVIS font from the NBC TV-Special

Sun Aug 14, 2005 3:50 pm

Hi everbody,

currently I'm working on an invitation card for my 30th birthday in September. My girlfriend who's a big fan of Elvis' NBC TV-Special suggested to use that typical ELVIS-font from the Special. The one that is seen in the Opening sequence and also during the closing when Elvis sings If I Can Dream.

Does anybody know how this font is called and whether there's an opportunity to download it somewhere? Maybe some of you have even worked with it in the past themselves. Thanks for your help!

Thanks, pal! But essentially I'm looking for the name of that font and an opportunity to downlad it not that much for the writing ELVIS. You know what I mean? I'd like to write text myself in exactly that type font.

Thanks again for caring! Image

Man, that's a gas ...

Thanks! My pal etp and I already came accross "gas" when we were discussing the issue on the telephone and casually were surfing the internet searching for fonts. 8)

"Gas" seems to be a cool font but IMO it's rather the "Elvis In Person" kind of font than the "NBC-Special" font ...

The Font used in the NBC special??

Yes. It si not a font, but more of an exclusive design of lights.

Yes.

That's not a font where they selected it and then typed in ELVIS from the keyboard

That's a design that's been transferred to use in the artwork. You could do it yourself, not in a word or text program, but in a graphic program.

How did that turn out to be the font ?

ssr, do you mean you decided to use that font instead or are you saying that the designers of ELVIS in the 68 special used that font ?

Seems like it was solid letters with a dotted outline, not that the letters were filled with dots like the gas font.

I wonder if you can utilise that though to have the "fill" as solid, but the outline as the gas font ?
