Interesting that they will release this. I'm not impressed with their track listing for #3.

Thu Aug 04, 2005 6:04 am

Jon -

Guess that 3rd disc is a roundup of singles which didn't make the other 2 CD's !

They must have thought it wasn't strong enough for release on its own.

Thu Aug 04, 2005 6:22 am

I guess I realize that, but it still doesn't do much for me. Maybe it will be in a fantastic package the size of a coffee table book. Then I'll buy it.

For my money this is not a very well thought out release. It again reinforces the fact that Sony BMG are only interested in promoting the big sellers to the general public.

It is about time some originality was used in the compilation of new releases. The 69 Memphis Sessions are crying out to be re-released, preferably as tracks forming a 'Duets' Album.

"Hitstory" ?

Shades of that Michael Jackson set.

What a disappointing turn BMG continues to take.

"Ooh, it's 'raining'"

I almost prefer "Love, Elvis."

Wherever Rockin' Rebel or Peter Franks are spending their summer vacations, I'm sure this would spoil it. Don't tell either one.

I suppose :?: we can look forward to the following FTD's (also on the Japan site) coming up in 2005-2006:
[FTD] Promised Land
[FTD] Good Times
[FTD] How Great Thou Art
[FTD] Something For Everybody
[FTD] His Hand In Mine
[FTD] Pot Luck

From Elvis.com.....

The newly formed SONY BMG Strategic Marketing unit works closely with the company's labels to oversee and coordinate activities in a variety of areas, including master television, film and commercial licensing, creative product development, partnership marketing alliances, and the coordination of joint soundtrack projects between the Sony Music and BMG label groups, as well as overseeing Elvis Presley content management.

SONY BMG MUSIC ENTERTAINMENT is a global recorded music joint venture with a roster of current artists that includes a broad array of both local artists and international superstars, as well as a vast catalog that comprises some of the most important recordings in history. SONY BMG MUSIC ENTERTAINMENT is 50% owned by Bertelsmann A.G. and 50% owned by Sony Corporation of America.

Save that sh*t for the shareholders, not the fans!

'Hitstory' is digitally remastered using DSD Technology for optimum sound quality.

So what does this mean?
The first two discs are re-mixed as per their original release and the third disc is remastered
using the DSD technology (without remixing)???
This is getting stupid!!! What the hell happened to the catalog re-issue project???
What is all this crap they keep coming out with at Sony-BMG???
Love Elvis, Elvis By The Presley's, Hitstory???
This is all very confusing... I think I'll go lie down.

History-3 cd set coming in October.

I thought the pic was mild Gregory, do you have one where he's crapping from a higher point onto us fans below ?

The third disc is so poor in song selection that they only dare to bring it out when it is bolstered by 30#1's and 2nd-2-0.

Steve, this is a family-oriented messageboard, save when I'm not thinking or posting about Alizee.

Yeah, a day later and this sounds set sounds even worse.

"History" / "Hitstory"- whatever it is: How utterly uninspired.

hard at work on the Elvis catalog:
