June 1975 show on FTD

Tue Jul 19, 2005 11:18 pm

I wonder if FTD will release a show from this tour?
As we all know they are great shows with Elvis in great voice and mood too...but in all of them cc rider and I got a woman are missing.
The only complete show that exists is LE ME TAKE YOU HOME and we already have it and in great sound so I think this is not a choice. Also it took place in memphis and they already gave us a memphis concert from the year before.
So..what do you think?....and which concert would you suggest from this tour?

the first shows in huntsville, specially the may ones, give us the more rare material.

The Let Me Take You Home bootleg isn´t the complete concert, the last tracks on the cd was taken from other concerts from this particular tour and with inferiour sound. According to Tunzi the complete concert should be in the BMG archives. It would be nice to get the Memphis concert on FTD but then again it would be nice to get a "new" concert as well and the Huntsville concerts are almost the only ones that haven´t been released yet from this tour. We will get a recording from this tour on FTD!

Now that would be a release that I would buy without even thinkin'
about!

Elvis was great during most of '75 and the Memphis show from June 10th
is definetely a treat.

I really like the "Dixieland Rocks" cd too...

A Best sounding Huntsville show with rarities as 'bonus songs' from the other Huntsville shows would BOTH make a great FTD release AND represent that tour- would HAVE to be a real FTD winner! 8)

Huntsville sounds fine. This was a great tour for sure. But please, no re-make of "Let Me Take You Home" (the Memphis show). There is no way it would sound as good as the DAE release.

Ernst said that the strategy is to cover up each tour and each Vegas season...and perhaps they think that june 1975 is covered already (the silver box). But, they have given us 2 Cd´s from Las Vegas 1969 and a few from august 1970, so why not?

But how about july 1975? I sessions 3 it´s mentioned that there´s at least one soundboard from this tour. And then we have the 2 tours from 1970 (+ Houston 1970), Lake Tahoe in 1971, 1974 and 1976, november tour 1971, Las Vegas january 1972, january 1973, early 1974, august 1975, and december 1976, april and june/july 1973, may 1974, a couple of tours from 1976 including november and a few more bits from 1977.

Phew!!

I agree, Björn. June '75 shouldn't be a priority for FTD at this time - after all, we've had plenty of soundboards from June '75 on bootleg already.

dreambear: you are right. Many tours are still missing.
Anyway, June 1975 concerts would be a great FTD and Elvis did great concerts in Huntsville and for sure are one of the best from this tour.
I do hope they have a soundboard in good quality.

The Silver Box Set has nothing to do with FTD! The topic was the June 1975 tour and a possible future FTD release of this material, not 1970, 71, 72, 73, 74, 76 or 77...!
