What can they mean? We saw an Elvis shop in Memphis airport August 2003:-)

"Memphis International Airport (MEM)

You have entered Elvis country at Memphis International Airport, located 12 miles southeast of downtown Memphis. Travelers from around the country and the world pass through the airport while making a pilgrimage to Graceland, Elvis’ 14 acre estate, which is only a handful of miles from the airport. The airport is served by five major airlines and several regional jet services that operate out of three terminals. Northwest Airlines uses the airport as a hub and operates out of Terminal B. The other major presence at the airport is FedEx Express, which was founded at the airport in 1973. FedEx uses the airport as its “Super Hub” making it the busiest cargo airport in the world. Through the summer of 2005, travelers will encounter construction within the airport as the aging terminal facilities undergo a major renovation. But, never fear, during the renovations the Elvis-themed gift shop is still open so you can grab that final souvenir before heading home. " From ... 64945.html

I was in Memphis Airport last month, and I didn't see anything Elvis related. Now, this may have been due in part to the fact that I didn't know where my bags were coming out and was wandering around like a lost fool..

It would be very cool though to have the airport named after Elvis.

Btw Maurice, thanks so much for putting me in touch with Jim Browder. The man knows how to give a top class tour!

Kev, Yes the HEAT in Memphis - it can really disorientate us coming from a much cooler (colder) climate. Our present heatwave here in Ireland a welcome exception to the rule.

You were in Arrivals, and the Elvis shop is in Departures.

Jim really does know the Elvis impressive knowledge. (J.B. TCB Tours)

Looking forward to hearing about your mighty adventure when you cool off:-) ... 64945.html
