Ocean's Eleven

Wed Jul 06, 2005 3:00 am

I was stunned, while driving around with my 15-year-old, playing EBTP cd, and he mentions, "yeah, that "Less Conversation" song they played a lot in "Ocean's Eleven." I had no idea! I do not really see current movies anymore in the theater, and don't listen to popular music radio either. Was this part of the movie's soundtrack hyped at all does anyone recall? The fact that it was an old Elvis song revisited? Did it become a new hit on the radio around the time, 2001 or 2002? The remix is absolutely fantastic, so much better than the lackluster movie version. I would really like to know anyone's recollection of that time.

Wow,have you been living in a cave or something?!!??
Just kidding of course but the track was a big hit world wide, so funny you didn't hear about it.
The track was remixed by Dutch producer Junkie XL, yes yes, I am proud to be a Dutchman. 8)
The track was used in a commercial for Nike and became a big hit.
Junkie XL had to change his name to JXL because EPE didn't want Elvis associated with someone that calls himself Junkie, go figure.

Hmmm, didn't I say:
Just kidding of course

Don't take everything so serious and read before you judge.

The ALLC sequence is very stylish. Beautiful, digital cinematography.

We all know that Elvis didn't like Vegas, probably enjoyed it best as a visitor on vacation and not as a worker. But I think he would have been amazed at the look, hotels, replicas, rollercoasters and just the fact that it has become a Disneyland for adults.

And that today the shows are the most important and not the casinos. I don't think anyone would be telling him now that he can only perform for one hour, because the people are supposed to return to the tables asap. I mean have you seen the Coliseum they built for Celine Dion?

--------

'Suspicious Minds' plays in full over the opening credits of Intolerable Cruelty and fades out in a nice instrumental version

more songs in Lilo & Stitch 2 - 'Stop, Look And Listen' - 'I Need Your Love Tonight' and 'Rubberneckin'. The DVD streets 08/30/05

Bruce Almighty features ALLC

on the DVD is an outtake where Jim Carrey breaks into an impression of Elvis singing Clambake. He probably got inspired by the rooftop he is standing on.

Black Hawk Down: 'Devil In Disguise' and 'Suspicious Minds' - the chopper pilot is an E fan

don't we have a list somewhere with all songs in feature films ?

It was the use of 'ALLC' in 'Oceans Eleven' that prompted Nike to use the song for their 2002 World Cup campaign. An inspired choice. :D The Elvis world hasn't looked back. The thing is there is so much more material out there that the public are not familiar with. :(

The cave scenario fits me well. I've been out of the movie theater for a few years now, I completely skip ads on TV with Tivo now, you get the picture.

This is completely thrilling, I was just able to download the Nike ad and watch it for the first time, also downloaded the Lilo and Stitch soundtrack, which is pretty cool even though for kids----so now I'm completely updated, lol.

Thanks for the info., Elvis-4-Ever, and every last root of my heritage is Dutch too.

"The Lost World - Jurassic Park 2"

a big game hunter talking on walkie-talkies tells a jeep of his guys to lasso the dinosaur with the horn..."the pompadour...Elvis!"

His guys laugh.

I wonder how many movies " Suspicious Minds" has turned up in - recently I saw Richard Gere in " Breathless" after many a year and there was the song ...
