Question re fan footage of Elvis in Las Vegas

#173199

Post by Mike C »

I was watching the Rare Elvis Vol. 1 real video found on Jordan's Elvis World and I saw some footage that intrigued me. There's a clip of Elvis ending a Vegas show (looks to be about 1973) - as the curtain comes down, Elvis steps foward to shake peoples hands. What's interesting is that there seems to be ramp to the stage ala the Aloah show.

Does anyone know what date this footage is from? How long was such a ramp put in place?

Thanks,
Mike C

Mike, you are correct in that there was a ramp used in Vegas. It was the August/September 1973 engagement. As far as I know, that was the only time a ramp was used in Vegas. I sat on that ramp in 1973 and it was totally awesome. Hope this helps.

Thanks for the info, Linda. Yeah, it looked really, really cool. What show did you see?

Thanks again,
Mike

I've said this before about lucky Linda, it's quicker to ask her for a list of shows she didn't see
