FTD stands for Follow That Dream and is the name that BMG chose for the collectors label releases.

FTD stands for Follow That Dream records - a small part of the BMG empire - which only issues Elvis Presley releases in quantities believed to be less than 10,000. Made available through mail order.

The FTD releases are those deemed to have no general over the counter sales appeal, although this is subject to debate.
