could you explain the joke ( if it is one ! )
my english isn't good enough to catch it

Odds My Bodkins, I cannot ever recall James ever being absent from a show and being replaced.
I can recall a show in Dec 1975 (Las Vegas) where Ronnie Tutt had to miss a show and was replaced by the Sweet Inspirations drummer.
Oh Doctor, we need you!

JailhouseRocker I don't think Tom meant anything by it. Noodle/brain scratcher/teaser.

Is this a trick question?? As far as i know the only members to play in ALL of Elvis' concerts from 69 onwards were James Burton and John Wilkinson!!! They both never missed a show.

Michel,
I simply meant that it was a hard question. As Genesim said, it had me scratching my head, which is also referred to as a noodle over here in the states. Sorry about the confusion.

Is this a trick question??
Bingo.
It is also a poorly-worded question, ensuring no one gets it "right."

Is the Doc's response a clue? or is his translation that your question was a waste of time?
Anyway, is there an answer? And, is this in reference to live performances only?

to see the answer look at "the james burton trivia" post !

For the non French-speaking posters, here is a translation of Doc's post:
"Sorry I criticised the wording of your question.
It's a fair cop.
You sure stumped me on this one !
I don't know everything after all !"
At least, I think that is the gist of it.
