ON TOUR BOX SET tracklisting for next year...!!!!!

Fri May 30, 2003 7:46 pm

ON TOUR BOX SET - 4 CD'S
RELEASE: JULY 2004 (exact day will be confirmed)
The idea is to keep the same profile than the "Live in Las Vegas" box set.
This means two complete concerts: one from early 70's and the other from
late 70's as to show how Elvis was sounding in both different periods and
two compilation cd's so that we can include more different titles (although
some will be repeated), leave out the ones that could be more repeated in
case of putting four complete concerts (CC rider, I got a woman, Love me,
etc....) and make the box set more enjoyable.
IMPORTANT: Maybe some fans will be confused and ask why we didn't focuse
the "On tour" project in the tour from april 1972.
Well after thinking, checking and listening to some material we though it
was more important not only to make a box set with the same profile than the
"Live in Las Vegas" box set as we already explained if not also because we
think (as this product will be sold to the public in general)...it will show
how hard Elvis as an artist used to work...specially in his last years when
his health was not going well and was still touring and giving his life away
putting all his vioce and soul each time he was on stage.

Elvis ever made and for sure the best (together with Pittsburgh and maybe

A few points worth considering:

It’s not known whether RCA have a multi track recording of the December 29, 1976 Birmingham concert. I think it’s likely that they don’t.

How can they publish a track list for disc two when they don’t know which shows these performances are going to come from? Sound quality and the overall quality of Elvis’ performance would have to be considered before deciding on a track listing.

I seriously doubt that Ernst Jorgensen would devote a full disc to live 1977 performances on a commercially released RCA/BMG collection.

Taking all of this into account, I don’t believe this "news".

Oh nooooooooooo! Not again!!! Please don't!!! Rebel, this is spam, something that's obviously supposed to be funny. Didn't you notice everything's from this fantastic box ("source: BMG" ;)) has already been released??

I have always hoped they would put the Birmingham concert out. Most likely it will be an FTD release. I would rather see it as an FTD so it would include booklet with pics dedicated to that concert only.

I knew it wasn’t true, but I thought I’d better give the reasoning behind my thinking before somebody accused me of being cynical.

I don't take this to mean that it's a muli-track recording - just that they're saying not to expect it to sound like the Virginia show, but it will be better than the bootleg.

Of course, whether this "news" about a new box set next year is true - is another story.

Come on guys... that's why I deleted my original post.

I'm pretty sure the "Source: BMG" is actually

Fri May 30, 2003 10:50 pm

Sorry G! You need a new computer man!

Fri May 30, 2003 11:01 pm

It ain't my computer. It is a work computer. I don't know much about UNIX. This computer is super fast though, and wipes out mine. Duel 2 gig processors!! Anyway, about the time I ask somebody to find out..is the time I get busted..know what I mean?

Genesim -
I'd hold off getting any of those titles. We're getting the San Antonio show on the Close Up box in July, and it's a pretty safe bet we'll get the Hampton show in the not too distant future (either as an FTD or as part of a BMG On Tour box, which would probably also include at least parts of the other 2 shows). So save your dough, have faith in Ernst & Roger, and be patient. Some way, some how, E & R will deliver the goods!

Fri May 30, 2003 11:04 pm

Ahh I will buys those two. No sense in suffering during the process.
