Ernst always stated, that he knows of some 50s concert recordings which he didn't want to obtain because the asking price is too high for what it is .. another girl-screaming distorted show.
I was always shocked to hear that from him. So, I'm very excited about that 'new' find.
Fabulous to hear and despite talking over the performances heartbreak hotel and long tall Sally sound very strong!
Marvellous to hear!
I haven't had the chance to listen to the recording so I don't know how bad it is, but maybe if the talking is really distracting, it can be removed with ai?
Judging from the sound snippets I heard it is a great recording and I am glad someone releases this monumental audio, I really do not care whether it is SONY/ FTD or MRS.
Note* To view the WOWO web site you need to be located in the United States, anyone not located in the US, you'll need a VPN connected to the United States, which I state on my web site

I'm sure it has been done elsewhere, and hopefully we'll get to hear it soon.

As for me, I prefer original historical recording as it was recorded.
I think this "Long Tall Sally" rendition is the most raw and powerful one we now have.
It's good I still have snippets of unppublished recordings and information of it's owners, I've found during my research, at my disposal.
But I will be holding it only for me and trusted circle. Being overly sharing and empathetic doesn't do good for me.

I know it's been a hard lesson, but it shows that oversharing can lead to problems like this.
Thanks for everything you have done and for sharing this with everyone.
RCA? Sony would need a project to attach it to. As it stands, it would not be worth their while or investment, and certainly not profitable.
I'm not sure that's the case. There's no reason why Sony couldn't have issued it as a download/streaming EP. It's another sign that the Elvis team at Sony are seemingly not working within the market of 2024. With streaming and downloads, there is no need to attach something like this to a full-length project. Digital EPs are not the norm, but they're not all that rare either.
MRS dropped the album today, I listened to it via QOBUZ. It's pretty short and the audio quality is not too great, so I certainly won't sit down and listen to it all that much. Nevertheless it's great to get new stuff after almost seven decades. The interview shows a witty, already trained Elvis. At this point he obviously knew how to talk to the press. The impressions of the DJ are not all that disturbing, it's nice to get some impressions like the singer taking off his tie and stuff like that. "Heartbreak Hotel" and "Long Tall Sally" are performed straight and very well. "Don't Be Cruel" is played slower than on the record, with some kind of clap-along rhythm. The audience is completely in awe and goes bananas over whatever Elvis does. ELVIS PRESLEY - ON FIRE IN TOLEDO 1956 certainly isn't the "release of the year", but it gives a nice impression of the hype the singer was causing at the time.
