Roger Semon will be 75 this year. If he wishes to move on and do other things then so be it.

EJ has always had lovely hair. He's almost like a nordic Elvis, if I may say so. In this fine picture he's standing directly beneath the spotlight and grasping the FTD-release "Fame And Fortune" firmly with both of his hands. Also look at the lovely sunglasses, tucked away at the collar of his white and surprisingly spotless t-shirt.

The somewhat shorter fella to EJ's left is Roger Semon himself.

A fan reads somewhere and reports the possibility of an employee very high up in the production of Elvis product leaving or retiring, then asking the question if it's true. Instead of some people trying to find if it's true, which is what the op is asking he gets the following answers

I heard a rumor that Roger Semon once shot his mother. That one takes the cake. I also heard a rumor that he smoked marijuana to whip himself into a frenzy while singing.

The topic was presented from the start as coming from a credible source. But there was no actual source given.

For some that's an issue, a report based on nothing. Clearly not you, though.

Ummm where is exactly does the opening comment suggest it is coming from a credible source. The thread title included the use of a question mark, so it wasn’t a statement of fact. Also, it wasn’t a report based on nothing either because someone has now posted a link to the YouTube channel that the comment was made on. It was unfortunate that the person who told me about it could not remember exactly where he had heard it, hence the reason the question was asked. In case you missed it………"There’s a story/rumour going around that Roger Semon has recently retired……"

A story/rumour does not necessarily mean that the story comes from a credible source, and if it was coming from a credible source, I would have written something like "I have it on good authority that Roger Semon has retired. Also, the follow up comments "I have absolutely no idea how true or false this is, but simply asking the question. Anyone heard this?" becomes somewhat meaningless if it was coming from a credible source.

It looks like not only did you flunk charm school but failed in reading and comprehension too.

Yep - so based on a handful of sarcastic comments from some and a few guesswork comments from others, we still have no firm idea. And even The Doc who we are led to believe is in the loop, cannot say one way or the other either. But hey ho….time will eventually tell.

Well said.

Only at FECC can someone post a meaningful question , worthy of a sensible response, as a topic , only to have it derailed by silly, pathetic responses.
I guess you'll probably WON'T get a serious answer.

I’ve tried to convince them both to join me in retirement, but they both said “it’s not time for them to go” and that it was still “good times.” That’s the truth. No rumours here.

Well that’s a start so thanks for that. My only question now is "when did you try to convince them….was that recently ie in the last month or so?" Then we can put any speculation to rest…..for a while anyhow.

You’ve got more chance of winning the National lottery than getting a straight answer from him. But then don’t forget that with all those repetitive childish emojis he rolls out, he’s clearly still in kindergarten learning the basics.

My two cents;

We all know both parties ages, so common sense will tell you that retirement may be coming at some point, but if they both continue to enjoy what they do and it remains "something to do" and "fun" and it`s not taking up a 40 hr week (which I don`t believe it does) well what`s the hurry?? End of story!!

I`m sure both parties just luv reading this post

I'll copy the original post for you to re-read.

There’s a story/rumour going around that Roger Semon has recently retired and there is a newbie who has taken his role which is a possible cause for delays in getting the FTD vinyls planned/released or even put out. I have absolutely no idea how true or false this is, but simply asking the question. Anyone heard this?

Nowhere in that statement does it suggest as you say "presented from a credible source" which may be the reason why he is asking in the first place if anyone else has heard the same rumour.

For an educated man I find it very hard to understand that you miss read this.:smt017

Ps, I did not see emjels' reply stating almost the same thing I have written here as I read your reply first. That said I will leave it as is, you may better understand if you read the same thing twice
