I really really hope @pmp will be adding this to his legendary collection. It'll be even more legendary afterwards.

I'm not sure quite what the point of your post is. I already have ftd releases of shows from this season, and I don't need more. But I have NOT criticized the new ftd, or criticized ftd for choosing the season they have. My point on the previous page was about the season in general. But you probably knew that - as did @Ciscoking - and seem to be merely sh*t stirring.

The point was to have a little fun once in a while. And everybody knows you're among FTD's biggest critics and very selective. This release is gonna be good and I thought you might want to add those, and maybe get rid of Las Vegas '74 (the one with the speed issues) in the process.

What makes you think that I bought Las Vegas 74? I don't buy releases with known significant speed issues. Nevada Nights has a slight speed issue on CD2, but nothing particularly noticeable - and the FTD disc is superceded by the matrix recording shared by Elvisalisellers anyway. Thankfully CD1 is fine, as is It's Midnight. And three concerts from a season is plenty enough for me. Meanwhile, High Sierra from the Tahoe season is a decent enough representative of that season, and at the right speed (or near enough for it not to notice). I have no idea how you know the new set is going to be "good" since I'm assuming you haven't heard it.

But you're the one who is making all this about FTD. There was never any intention to criticise the new release. But it seems like you are doing that work for me.

I fail to see how or why any fan would buy cds running too slow. Is that the way you think we should be listening to Elvis?

Maybe that fan just bought the CD to listen to the concert and subsequently found out it was running slow. Maybe you should be glad other fans take the plunge first otherwise you would never know which CD's to avoid...

Indeed. But the point here is that no-one should be "taking a plunge" to find out whether a disc is running slow or not. When buying 3 discs for fifty quid, there should not be the slightest doubt that it is running at the right speed. To argue otherwise is nonsense.

Thank you all for the good feedback ! This release is a perfect example for teamwork in the FTD crew when it comes to soundboards. Surely we knew that you cant do anything wrong with that Tahoe season. Its Elvis at his later prime.

Grateful to add three new shows to the collection.

Elvis was in generally good form during the first half of '74.
True and no bad shows this season all solid shows and singing well. :D

I would describe them as pleasant shows, because the edge seemed to be lost from the March tour and the earlier stint in Vegas. Elvis doesn't seem to belt them out like he did earlier. Songs like 'Steamroller' and 'Johnny B' seem to be found wanting. Lastly, the sound on the High Sierra bonus tracks isn't really that sharp. Let's hope that FTD can improve on them.

Not in the real world.

We’ve been given a handful of poor shows by FTD so far, three of which were released quite recently, so I wouldn’t be surprised if we got a box containing the spring 1977 multi track recordings.

So yeah we’re likely to see it in the real world.

How many box sets have FTD released of sub-par, incomplete multi-track recordings?

In the real world, I believe that number is 0.

A booklet would do, i don't see how much you can really write about the memphis shows.

Has anybody heard anything? It's almost April now and I'm getting desperate. Really desperate. So desperate in fact that I bought a second copy of FTD's High Sierra and a bunch of Beethoven piano sonatas + Chopin, recorded by the late Maurizio Pollini (RIP), who passed away this week.

Yep, the sets (soundboards and "Blue Hawaii) will be sent out from most European Elvis "shops" just after Easter. They have arrived this week. If you have the vinyl on pre-order and want to save on shipping you should hurry and contact your shop/dealer and tell them right now.
