Sound samples here for anyone interested in this release, admittedly it does sound quite good and it sounds like the 3 AM show is a matrix recording.

Downloaded one of the samples, folded it and the FTD down to true mono, lined it up with the FTD and inverted the MRS channel and imagine my shock when it confirmed that it's lifted from the FTD, the only difference you can hear is what MRS have done to "remaster" the FTD release. IF they had taken from another source the tapes would likely be running at very slightly different speeds because not all tape transfers are identical, but the MRS lines up perfectly with the FTD.
This is shocking... not! 🤣

I have the FTD of the 3am show. It might not be the greatest show Elvis did, but the rarities make it interesting, and that, combined with the sound quality, brings it into the zone of one of the dozen or so sound boards I play most often. BUT I don't need it again and I'm not particularly interested in the other show.

Nobody should be surprised by this, but thanks for confirming what some here are trying to cover up with their smoke and mirror games.

I guess that the only thing that's surprising at this point is that some still try to defend MRS's despicable business practices.

Here you go again.

Tell me what are MRS's despicable business practices and prove it?

Your bitterness must eat you up.

Incidentally, I have transferred the same songs from different tapes (not Elvis), and guess what, they run at exactly the same speeds.

By the way, you still haven't answered the previous questions I asked you several times. Are you deliberately ignoring them?

Lifting material from FTD releases and it’s just been proven, even though we didn’t really need to because it was obvious what the sources were for these MRS releases.

The reality is that you have proven nothing but so far just provided hearsay to suit an agenda . Further you are not in possession of all of the facts but are making assumptions. But I don’t know why you are so bothered about all of this as Sony from what we can tell, don’t give a damn, And if they did, they would have done something about it before now.

When a book falls into the public domain in the US (and every book published prior to 1929 is now in the public domain there), and other publishers start publishing it, where do you think they get the text from? Yes, it's previous editions. No different to what is happening here.

just received this set and played the first cd......at first i thought it was 'ok' until 'What Now My Love' was sung- like WOW! so and such impressive SOUND and performance ! 'Bridge' also was amazing and later i will play the 3am show, but so far very impressed- Booklet is sturdy and pleasant enough.

Yes, because regardless of everything, the 4 cd august 72 release and this new one sound amazing. Really amazing. Previous releases were ok, but lately is like their engineer’s finally found the way to do them sound impressive.

I then listened to the 3am show......again nothing really hit me until My Way and What Now My Love.Sure their is a little playing around this show but it's still a good show with a few rarer songs and came across VERY clearly indeed.Zero problems with the sound on this package sounds like a professional recording.
