On November 28th, the future of all the sites on the ElviCities servers itself are in jeopardy. That is when the multi-year contract with my server provider and other contracts are up, and when it would normally be time for renewal.

I was hoping beyond hope that I would have met my GoFundMe goal as that had a built-in buffer to provide for this. (Previous cash on hand).
But in my state of mind, that buffer went towards my medical bills. I have nobody to blame for this but myself.

But it would kill me to know that my servers and all the sites on it would disappear because of it!

Heard from Jordan today. He will be admitted to another hospital in the very near future -- hopefully for a thorough evaluation and, at last, determination of exactly has been causing his problems and, also hopefully, for some idea how to get him on the mend. His family exchequer is severely depleted, as you can imagine after more than three years of medically induced unemployment as a nurse and constant medical expenses. Any amount will be helpful, even single-digit amounts! Jordan has unfailingly helped to build FECC into the community it is, so now, let's see if we can't help get him back on his feet.

It hurts especially to think I went to school for all those years for (I don't want to say nothing), but it is starting to look that way.
The American medical system has always been corrupt (money hungry)
The American higher education system the same. Now for more than three years my wonderful wife has made it a point to carry us, to pay all the bills. But this last one is a doozy, even with "Max out of pocket" on our insurance (my goal in the GoFundMe) in play I'm seriously concerned me and my health will put us COMPLETELY UNDER. Mostly due to the critical care and being in that unit and “stepdown" for seven days. I'm looking for a miracle, it's going to take one. And I've got to go back for another 5-7 days at a specialty diagnostic facility in the state to see if they can figure things out a little better. I bet everyone can't tell, I haven't slept again.
If y'all can keep me in your thoughts and prayers I would appreciate it.

The "fight" is s far from over and the "war" has yet to begin.

My health at the moment isn't what I'd call stellar, but I'm thankfully not in critical condition.

All I know for certain is that I'm in deep trouble because of ------ healthcare.. The absolute minimum they will be coming for is my ” Max out of pocket” which is my GoFundMe goal. Which many have contributed to. And I thank you for that. MANY times over.

Hospital (which is sneaking up on me fast!) for an extensive workup on the neurological side of things.

When I was 14 I underwent urgent brain surgery which left scar tissue that is (in my medical opinion at least) the reason for the neurological issues. I am keeping my fingers crossed that they find a solution. Because being on

As for the endocrine half of this sandwich, all is up in the air. Their previous reasoning was that I "lost weight too fast and my pancreas didn't have time to adjust, therefore it produced the same amount of insulin as my old weight, causing me to plunge [for one day?] into the realm of diabetic crisis. As in, almost no more fecc-mechanic. As in, on the ventilator with CPR.

And I was assured it would never happen again.

And then it happened again the following month. But this time I was taken to the hospital with residents on call where "endocrinologists only occasionally come around".

The only good thing I can say about them is that their ER got my GCS from a 3/15 to a more survivable 13/15. (I think it was). That scale is used around the world to measure consciousness and level of coma and is known as the Glasgow Coma Scale. As I've said before 0 is dead. So it was a feat getting me up from a 3. In less than a day.
But the rest of the stay was me in the middle of a - sandwich .

But in the next couple of days (I think it is) I will be having an appointment with an endocrinologist worth their salt.

All this is to say thank you for listening. Sometimes I repeat myself. But it is is rather therapeutic.

The amount of stress your donations are taking off of me is already helping. Just yesterday I was able to pay off the CRNA who is sort of an anesthesiologist from the first show.

But like I said before, the fight is just beginning. And the war hasn't even started.

This is a bit of a different (happy!)] update!!!

In just over two months, wonderful folks have helped us reach just a little under 40% of our goal!

When this was started back then, I truly thought that nobody cared and that I'd be lucky to see 5% of the goal - long term.

Boy, was I wrong!!!

Kind folks have consistently, made me take pause and realize how wonderful our "little community" truly is!

Sure, just like any "family", sometimes some bickering occurs. But when you get right down to it, when a "family member" is in need (as we have seen with someone else in the past), we pull up our "boot strings" and do what's right.

I'm extremely proud to not only be a member of this family but also, in my own way, help it continue to thrive online. Which I've in one way or another done since 1996.

It's not always been an easy job i.e. changing servers multiple times with minimal downtime, or doing "live" bugfixing during a family vacation for 36 hours straight.

But you know what? I'd never EVER have it any other way.
