I agree. On Tape 1972 wrote: ↑Thu Jul 21, 2022 9:11 pmShow 3 at the Sahara Tahoe is rock solid. Elvis is in a good mood, very focused and keeps his audience interactions far and between. Especially the ballads are performed incredibly well (!). Eliasson's trademark-mastering with its prominent bass works great on what would otherwise be a pretty dry sounding tape. The show is 100% complete, no tape-turning or anything. The balanced soundstage (considering this is "just" a regular soundboard) and the scarcity of these recordings makes this release an essential purchase. It's too bad many a fan who picked up Takin' Tahoe back in 2003 is no longer around for this one.
I started with disc 3, being a new show and all. Sounded very good. And the version of Help me make it through the night is the best ever. I've always had the one from May 13th as the best, but to have that in soundboard is fantastic.
Not entirely sure about disc 2.
It maybe sound booth recording by professional people, but I can still hear people talking now and again. So to me this is just as equal to a good audience recording, where the person recording is restraining him/herself.
It seems I already have the show of CD2 under Feb 20th 1973 Midnight show.
But I'm not complaining as this release is in much better quality then what I had from audience recording.
